Dawn Stoker Rev. Dawn Stoker, Supply Preacher

Dawn grew up in the Presbyterian Church in Manasquan, NJ participating in every age appropriate church activity from Sunday School, choir and bells, youth group, and as a member of the Junior Board of Deacons.

During her high school years, Dawn felt a draw towards the adventurous life of missions and pursued a degree from Eastern Mennonite College in International Agriculture Develepment. She was ready to take on the world, however, the world wasn't quite ready for her. A year later, Dawn was at Princeton Theological Seminary, Her focus was on the classes and internships on youth and children. She prepared herself the best she could for what may lay ahead. Her greatest challenge, she writes, came in the midst of Clinical Pastoral Education, serving as chaplain on the Eating Disorders floor of Somerset Hospital where she counseled mostly female adolescents struggling with issues of body image and relationships.

Dawn was ordained 15 years ago and has served several churches in New Jersey, Louisiana, Alabama and North Carolina. Children and youth have been at the forefront of her experience.

Her husband, Rev. Ron Stoker currently serves as Pastor of Macland Presbyterian Church. They have two boys, Clayton, 8 and Sullivan, 5 and two dogs Noah, 17 and MacKenzie, 7 months. Dawn enjoys playing outside with her boys and dogs along with making a loud noise on her guitar while home.
