“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37
When Jesus looked out at the crowds He said, “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37). That is exactly what Campus Outreach seeks to do on college campuses around the world. We train college students to become laborers for the Kingdom of God.
Our mission statement is “Glorifying God by building laborers on the campus for the lost world.” This is possible through the means of evangelism and discipleship. First I share my faith broadly with many college girls at WCU. Next for those that are interested, I begin to establish them in their relationship with the Lord. After that, I teach how to teach other about God. Hopefully by this point I have invested in them what it means to walk with God and give their life to Him and people. Lastly, they begin this same process with new people. And that is how the world is won for Christ: through relationships!
I spend time with college girls, at WCU, who come from many broken homes. These students are mostly churched, but have no idea nor care about a relationship with God. I take a long time trying to build trust with these guarded students.
So far, I have not seen much fruit of my labor, but have planted many seeds. My favorite times are when girls remember my name and are excited to see me again. My work is called labor and that is what it is. Day in and day out, I go to the dorms with the hopes that the Holy Spirit will soften a girl’s heart to know that the partying and boys will not satisfy her yearning and broken soul, only a relationship with the Creator of the world can do that.
I live off of full support, so I would appreciate prayers that my supporters would continue to give. And if you or anyone you know is interested in supporting me in this great Kingdom investment, let me know!
Also, please pray for the hearts of women at WCU, that God would display Himself to them and they would want a relationship with Him.
My prayer is that women at WCU would know that real life is not found in temporary things, but in the risen Savior!
