Pastoral Care"Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain." Psalm 127:1

The Presbyterian Housing Coalition of Cobb County is a group of 8-10 churches (of varying size) in our county who are dedicated to serving God by building and repairing homes for those who need them both locally and abroad. We support the building of these homes financially as well as with our time, talent, and energy.

HabitatCobb County Habitat

We build at least one house in Cobb County each year. Our next build will be in the Summer of 2007.

Cobb DisasterCobb Disaster

During 2005/6, we partnered with Cobb Disaster Recovery, providing financial support and labor to repair homes flood-damaged by Hurricane Dennis here in Cobb County. We received an award (pictured right) for this service in 2007.

Kenya HabitatKenya Habitat

We sponsor the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes in Kenya each year. The 2006 cost is $2000 per home. These have a life-changing impact on the families who receive them. Click to sponsor a house.

Get out of your seats and into the streets during Mission Focus week. We thank FPC's Mission Focus for past funding. We are working on a new program-coming soon to this space.

A Firm Foundation

The annual budget for Presbyterian Housing Coalition is approximately $60,000. The Coalition has 5 main sources of financial support.

  1. Each church contributes a varying portion of its mission/outreach budget to our organization. Each participating congregation has a Board representative, as well.
  2. FPC, the largest church in the Coalition, donates its several parking lots (which provide great access to the various Independence Day activities) on July 4th. Volunteers man the lots all day and ask for contributions. Click to Volunteer.
  3. The Run for Home 5K race is held in late August each year at FPC. This event started in 2004 and is growing in popularity each year. Our next 5K is scheduled for August, 2007.
  4. A dinner and silent auction is held in early fall each year, and is the biggest Coalition fundraiser. Auction donations are made mostly by local businesses, but there are also some individuals who provide services as auction items. Click to volunteer or for more information.
  5. Participation in the Marietta Bazaar. Click to request more information.
