YWCA Sheltering Hands & Battered Women’s Shelter

“For in the day of trouble (the Lord) will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock…” Psalm 27:5

The YWCA has a long and rich history of providing services to women. It is, in fact, “the oldest and largest multicultural women's organization in the world” supporting women across boundaries or race, religion and heritage.

Among the many good works of the YWCA is the Sheltering Hands & Battered Women’s Shelter. Two locations serve northwest area. If you, or someone you know is in need of assistance from the Shelter, we urge you to contact the shelter immediately. You can do so by clicking here or by contacting the organization by phone (404) 527-7200.

FPC members support the YWCA through financial giving (donations of any size are accepted and appreciated); facility repair and maintenance; various Holiday projects for children in the shelter. We also provide a quarterly birthday party for children housed in the shelter. Recently, our committee shared a pizza party for children and filled Easter baskets to be shared with the kids. This amazing organization is in constant need of support. Won’t you prayerfully consider becoming part of this committee to raise funds, build awareness and support the women in need within our community.
